Festive Brass of Myrtle Beach

DAVID HOWARD, PRESIDENT

TJ Anderson serves as musical director and conductor of The Festive Brass. He is currently in pursuit of a bachelors degree in music education from Coastal Carolina University. Following his time at CCU, he plans to attend graduate school to further his studies in wind conducting.

TJ has served in a number of roles around the Grand Strand, working on the percussion staff at Carolina Forest High School, and as the lead percussion instructor at Myrtle Beach High School. At Myrtle Beach High School, he served as the musical director for the 2017 production of Grease. For the past 3 years, TJ has also been serving on the praise and worship team at Ocean View Baptist Church. 

Having grown up in Conway, SC, TJ graduated from Carolina Forest High School. During his time at Carolina Forest H.S., he was an active member of the Fine Arts department, and he participated in the band and choir programs, as well as the drama department. He frequently served as a lead student conductor on many occasions. TJ has gained much musical experience, and appreciates all the diversity and opportunity that music has to offer him.

David Howard is the President of the Festive Brass and has been an integral part of the management of personnel, event programming, music selection, and creating musical arrangements that fit the group's instrumentation best.

Dave is a retired veterinarian and has been involved in musical groups for more than 40 years. Dave is also a member of other local community bands and ensembles such as the Wilmington Symphonic Winds, the North Myrtle Beach Community Band, and the Beach Brass Quintet.
